Making a Success from Failure, New Blue Paper from 4imprint

(Manchester, UK) – Making a Success from Failure is the latest Blue Paper from promotional items distributor 4imprint.

‘Making a Success from Failure’ investigates how businesses define and communicate failure within their organisation. It explores how to create opportunities during a setback or crisis by encouraging a policy of openness and identifies 7 principles that can help you learn from failure in order to succeed in the future.

The paper looks at how failure can create opportunities to improve systems, internal communication and growth. Examples of failure that have led to success are all around us - James Dyson made 5,127 prototypes of his cyclone technology vacuum cleaner in the 15 years before it first came to market.

As Cheryl Jackson Leafield, Marketing Manager for 4imprint in the UK and Ireland says:  “If the likes of James Dyson, Sir Clive Sinclair and Steve Jobs can fail as spectacularly as they did and go on to become huge business successes, we definitely have something to learn about both failure and our attitudes to it”.

Printed Products donated to help HUGS and Eczema Outreach (Scotland)

(Manchester, UK) – As part of their Helping Hand programme 4imprint, the promotional items distributor, has donated printed trolley coin keyrings to HUGS and printed cotton bags to Eczema Outreach (Scotland) to help with their fundraising and awareness campaigns.

HUGS, an East Grinstead based charity helping children from birth to 18 years will sell the keyrings to help raise much needed funds to support children with equipment as well as financial and emotional help at times of need.

With no Government or corporation funding, HUGS relies entirely on volunteers for support and fundraising to continue its work buying specialist equipment to improve the quality of life for disabled children, providing treats and happy memories to young carers and bereaved children and emotional support for teenagers affected by issues relating to alcohol, drugs and teen pregnancy.

With their biggest fundraiser to date, a Jubilee Ball planned for 1st June, HUGS are always delighted when companies donate desirable items that they can sell on to increase funding as fundraising consultant Peter Jenkins explains: “In these times of economic struggle, every one, both businesses and individuals, are watching their money, and it is so refreshing to see a company like 4imprint taking the initiative and providing charities with a lifeline like these promotional items”.

Eczema Outreach (Scotland) will use their cotton bags during events for families and to give to supporters and volunteers with their material included. The charity works with children and their families providing advice and support to the 15,000 children in Scotland suffering moderate to severe eczema, 20% of whom admit to being bullied at school.

While talking to a customer sales adviser about promotional items, project manager Magali Speight was delighted when she was told about the Helping Hand programme.

“The personalised bags have really helped us to market our charitable services and build the credibility about our young group”, Speight said, “the parents and volunteers who use the bags on a daily basis increase awareness of the impact of childhood eczema and several children have decided to swap their school bag for the 4imprint ones for a while!”

Speight also added that Eczema Outreach (Scotland) is always looking to make contact with new families with children with eczema. They also need volunteers to take part in a local Ambassador scheme (promoting the charity in their communities) and people to help organise events.

Social Media Measurement: Show Me The Results! : new Blue Paper available from 4imprint.

(Manchester, UK) – Social Media Measurement: Show Me The Results! is the latest Blue Paper from promotional products distributor 4imprint. It begins with 4 fundamental reasons as to why social media effort should be measured; before guiding the reader through an 11-step process to developing a sound measurement strategy.

“If you thought it was impossible or not even worth exploring how to measure your organisation’s social media efforts then this Blue Paper offers another point of view,” explains Cheryl Jackson-Leafield, Marketing Manager for 4imprint in the UK and Ireland.

It’s easy to think of ‘social media’ as just Twitter or Facebook and, whilst these are of course increasingly important, this Blue Paper also helps the reader co-ordinate and monitor effort across all online activity as well as customer-service related programmes. With focus groups and forums increasingly creating viral messages, it is essential that organisations take control of their media measurement and ensure all marketing and business messages are integrated.

Social Media Measurement is available to read here as a free download.

When Marketing Goes Viral: new Blue Paper available from 4imprint

(Manchester, UK) – ‘When Marketing Goes Viral’ is the latest Blue Paper from promotional items distributor 4imprint. The paper presents research on how to develop a viral marketing strategy, integrating this with an overall marketing plan and how to keep the momentum going once the campaign is underway.

As well as looking in-depth at a case study and identifying its initial goals and strategy, the Blue Paper explains why Viral Marketing works and highlights three hugely successful campaigns that many may not have even realised were viral campaigns. The paper suggests when a viral strategy might be considered and explains how to develop a strategy in conjunction with more traditional marketing activity.

According to Cheryl Jackson-Leafield, Marketing Manager for 4imprint in the UK and Ireland, “In a crowded marketplace with so many messages vying for attention it can be difficult for marketers to get their message heard. The brilliant thing about Viral Marketing, which is really a modern way of saying ‘word of mouth’, is that other people pass on your message and become brand champions. And as the internet is so fast and social media so popular, the word can spread incredibly quickly.”

The paper concludes by looking at the viral strategy adopted by Old Spice whose campaign was such fun that it inspired people to not only share it but make their own imitation versions of the campaign.

The Art of Negotiation new Blue Paper available from 4imprint

(Manchester, UK) – The Art of Negotiation, the latest Blue Paper from promotional items distributor 4imprint sheds light on something that every one of us does every day, even if we don’t think of our interactions as negotiation. The Blue Paper considers the psychology and theory behind negotiating, considers gender differences and gives a step by step guide to developing a strategy to successfully negotiate the next big deal, purchase or indeed pay rise.

Some say that negotiation can be defined as all interactions between two or more points of view, while others quite simply define it as bargaining. Where some people consider it almost a dark art with one party manipulating the other into submission; others believe it consists of open, honest communication based on mutual respect.

Whatever your belief, there’s no avoiding negotiation either in the workplace or in your daily life. Just think about asking for time off during a busy time at work, buying a car or even getting your children to tidy their room and you’ll know what we’re talking about!

“Negotiating is unavoidable. It’s very much a necessary part of business – and life,” says Cheryl Jackson-Leafield, Marketing Manager of 4imprint UK and Ireland. “That’s why we thought exploring this topic was so important. We hope it will help the reader understand the art and science and how to create a ‘win/win’ situation for everyone concerned.”

Successful negotiators are worth their weight in gold to an organisation, not only for the money they make by selling well and savings made by negotiating a good price for purchases, but for the relationships they are able to build with clients and suppliers.

By devising a clear strategy and understanding what’s important to the other side the paper outlines the important steps to successful negotiation and offers tools get the very best out of any opportunity to negotiate.
