The Kate Middleton effect has seen women across the globe copying her style and now it seems that people’s love for the Duchess of Cambridge is influencing their charitable giving.

Official figures cited by Hello magazine show that donations to Prince William and Prince Harry's charitable foundation have increased ten-fold since Kate came onboard.

Data shows that the charity raised £4.8 million in 2011, compared with £629,000 in 2010.

Kate’s contribution to The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry has been well recognised with the name being changed from The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Her picture also joins the royal brothers’ on the homepage of the Foundation's website.

Not all charities are lucky enough to have the endorsement of a figure as public as Kate. However, they can take some steps to ensuring that their name is out there and at the forefront of people’s minds.

One way of doing this could be to send out promotional items and gifts to help prompt people to give donations and make sure they are aware of your cause.
