Manchester’s tram operator Metrolink has been busy giving out free branded biscuits to passengers.
The gifts were handed out at city centre stations this mornings to mark the opening of the Second City Crossing, which offers new links and more frequent services through Manchester.
The biscuits bore a logo hailing the crossing as the final piece in the Metrolink jigsaw.
This is not the first time Metrolink has rewarded passengers with free promotional gifts.
Last Christmas, travellers were treated with Metrolink-branded bags for life and chocolates, while fruit has also been given out at tram stops in recent months.
Peter Cushing, Director of Metrolink at Transport for Greater Manchester, commented: “I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved with our partners over the last eight years as we’ve expanded the Metrolink network to become the largest light rail system in the UK.”
He added that he is looking forward to see its customers across the tram network experiencing the benefits of the new connections.
