Subway is offering a freebie to customers in an effort to boost brand loyalty.
Visitors to the fast-food chain’s website are being invited to provide an email address and accept cookies.
If they do so, they will be sent a digital coupon featuring a QR code via email. Customers can then take the coupon to a store and receive a free cookie in return.
Sacha Clark, Marketing Director at Subway, commented: “Our customers are at the centre of everything we do and we want to thank and reward them for their loyalty in an innovative – and delicious – way.
“What better than cookies for cookies to show our appreciation?”
McCann London, the agency that helped Subway deliver the campaign, was full of praise for the company for coming up with the concept.
Rob Doubal, Co-President and Chief Creative Officer at McCann London, said: “When the Subway team came up with the idea of turning bad cookies into good cookies I loved it.
“Cleaning up the internet. One sandwich at a time. Marvellous.”
