A businessman is using promotional items to help propose an ambitious swimming pool revamp among his community.
Richard Threlfall, part of the newly-formed Ilkley Pool Group, wants to knock down and re-build the town's indoor swimming pool and draw up plans to improve the entire site, which includes a lido, reports the Ilkley Gazette.
Mr Threlfall wants people living in Ilkley to get behind the plan and offer their own ideas to create a “masterplan” for the future development of the area.
To do that he has drawn up plans for the pool and lido which will be put on display at a specially-organised open day.
At the event, to be held at the annual Ilkley Triathlon, the Ilkley Pool Group will man a stall, offering promotional items to interested residents.
A survey asking for feedback on the proposals will be put in promotional bags and given out on the day.
“We need to decide what we want and have a masterplan everyone can buy into,” Mr Threlfall told the newspaper.
